DESCRIPTION:Presenters: Ashley Clark\n\nAudience: Faculty\n\nJoin Zoom Meet
 ing: https://ccp.zoom.us/j/94652020502\n\n \n\nLearning Goals\n\nParticipa
nts will:\n\n\n\nDistinguish between two approaches to AI-powered student
support by exploring how ClarkBOT assists with course navigation and logis
tics while Coach Clark provides guided academic practice.\nIdentify ways A
I tools can extend student support beyond the classroom by providing timel
 y answers\, low-pressure opportunities to ask questions\, and additional o
pportunities for guided learning while maintaining appropriate instruction
al boundaries. \nExplore how this model can be adapted across disciplines
and courses by using an instructor’s own course materials\, policies\, ass
ignments\, resources\, and learning goals to create customized student-sup
 port tools.\n\n\n\nSeminar Description\n\n\nWhat if students had a first s
top for course questions and a learning coach available whenever they need
ed additional support? This session introduces ClarkBOT and Coach Clark\,
two AI-powered tools developed for FNMT 019 that demonstrate how faculty c
an create customized\, course specific student supports.\n\n\nClarkBOT hel
ps students navigate the course by answering common questions about assign
 ments\, due dates\, course policies\, ALEKS\, Canvas\, and available resou
rces. Coach Clark serves a different purpose: supporting learning through
 guided questions\, hints\, explanations\, and additional practice rather t
han simply providing answers.\n\n\nWhile these tools were developed for a
mathematics course\, the approach can be adapted across disciplines and co
urse types. Faculty can use their own syllabi\, course materials\, frequen
 tly asked questions\, assignments\, readings\, terminology\, practice acti
vities\, and student-support resources to build tools that reflect the nee
ds of their students.\n\n\nParticipants will see how these tools are integ
rated into Canvas\, how intentional boundaries keep AI focused on supporti
ng rather than replacing the instructor\, and how a no-code platform can m
ake this approach accessible without programming experience. Attendees wil
l leave with practical ideas for creating their own course assistant\, lea
rning coach\, or other AI-supported resource designed to increase access t
o support and enhance student learning.
